Stevens Seminary Foundation is a nonprofit organization supporting the Glencoe-Silver Lake school district. Our mission is simple: make higher education and skilled trades training more attainable for local students.
Whether a graduate is headed to a four-year university, a community college, or a technical program, we believe the cost of that first step shouldn't stand in the way of a promising future.
Each year the foundation awards scholarships to GSL students continuing their education after graduation. Over the years it has also helped fund facilities and programs that serve every student in the district.
Stevens Seminary Foundation is a Minnesota nonprofit corporation and a 501(c)(3) organization, governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. Trustees serve without compensation.
The foundation takes its name from Stevens Seminary, an academy established in Glencoe in 1868 through a land grant from the State of Minnesota and named for Colonel John H. Stevens, one of the town's founders. The proceeds of that original grant, grown through investment and the generosity of local donors, still fund our work today.
